Yorkshire Yurts Wedding Fair and Lunch in Ripon

We took a delightful drive to Ripon today...or not so delightful it turns out thanks to the never ending 50mph limits on the M1.

Nevertheless we were in for a treat when we arrived at Yorkshire Yurts' wedding fair. As you know we're doing the DIY wedding thing, and as we're both at our most comfortable with our toes in the grass, we're going for an outdoor wedding. Yes, I know, I can hear your gasps and exasperated sighs from here. An outdoor wedding in England always has the potential for disaster, no matter what day you pick, even in the height of summer, rain is a strong possibility.

We thought over this issue for a long time and decided to go for it anyway. I spent a year and a half away from England, fantasising about rain (for some strange reason!) and I've come to realise that if you want to make the most of our beautiful countryside, and I do, I really do. You just have to suck it up and take the good with the bad.

So, back to the point, we pulled into the wedding fair and everything was gorgeous...

The location itself is AMAZING. If the Yurt business is what enabled them to buy this house, I'm definitely in the wrong business.

This house though!!

I'd get married in their green house, seriously

Or maybe in this adorable shed...

The Yurts were all set up in a tunnel, getting bigger and bigger as your went through.

What a welcome!

Yurts

Inside the 'King of all Yurts', the 50ft one, is my wedding dream come true...unfortunately, it's a tad out of our price range :(

The styling was really good. I got some excellent inspiration.

Snogging corner, classic!

Yorkshire Yurts

After our eyes had drunk their fill of the yurty goodness (and I had been given a free bridal mag, BONUS!) we headed into Ripon in search of food and found this joint.

Oliver's Pantry, Ripon

I had this insanely delicious meatball flatbread and washed in down with an orange San Pellegrino. Don't ask me what anyone else had because I only had eyes for my plate at this point.

aaahhhh...drools

mmmm

They had some cool artwork in the toilet...and it smelt great! I mean, not just great for a toilet, it smelt great for any roon. Good work Oliver's Pantry, thats a real acheivement!

The worlds best smelling toilet

Everyone had a little sleep on the way back...well, not my Dad, because then we all would have died.

Untill next time friend!

Peace xxx
